Ms Jeanine Heng – Assistant Chef de Mission for Singapore at 4th ASEAN Para Games
For the last 5 years, Ms Jeanine Heng has been a Relationship Manager at the Singapore Sports Council, working closely with various National Sports Associations (NSAs) to strengthen their sports strategies. Besides her position on the Executive Committee of Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC), she also provides her expertise and advice to sports associations such as Shooting, Motor Sports, Golf, Equestrian and Pétanque.
Ms Heng’s passion for sports is vividly illustrated by not only her commitment towards her work, but also by her involvement as an avid sportsperson. Amongst the various sports she plays, netball remains Ms Heng’s love after 19 years. In fact, she has been the chairperson of her netball club, the Sneakers – Division 1 champions, for the past three years. Ms Heng has also represented Singapore in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2007 World Championships.
For the first time, Ms Heng would be leading local athletes with disability to represent Singapore. From this experience, Ms Heng hopes to be able to contribute towards Singapore’s dream of becoming a world-class sports hub with a full understanding of disability sports, and also, to let every athlete return with a lesson, if not a medal, that will enable them to become world-class athletes.
