Official Ceremonial Attire
The official ceremonial attire comprises an important part of a national representative’s dressing, when he or she attends an international competition.
Official attires generally are worn during the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as other important functions during the Games.
Local athletes with disability have traditionally worn two types of official attire before 2006:
- Red blazer with state crest on left breast, with beige pants
- Red bomber jacket with state crest on left breast, with beige pants

Beginning from 2006, however, SDSC decided to make a bold move to engage designers in creating new and innovative ceremonial attires for local athletes with disability. This was to counter the warm weather conditions that the athletes had to face in the host countries, as well as to adjust to the needs of the athletes. Functional and easy-to-wear attires were some of the key requirements, especially for athletes who rely on wheelchairs to travel around.

Thus, 2006’s FESPIC attire was designed by Mr Hayden Ng, celebrated local designer.
