Awarding of Medals: The Minus One System

The 4th ASEAN Para Games utilizes the "Minus One System" in the awarding of medals that contribute to the official medal tally for each country.

What this system means is:

For an event that has three participants, only Gold and Silver Medals will be given and taken into the official medal tally.

For an event that has two participants, only the Gold Medal will be given and taken into the official medal tally.

As for an event that has only one participant, the event should be held for the purpose of registering a games record. The Gold medal will be awarded if the games record is broken. Where there is no current record from the previous ASEAN Para Games, the FESPIC record must be broken for the Gold Medal to be taken into the official medal tally.
